Ways to Help

You can make a difference in the lives of Southwest Florida residents in need. Use the button below to donate online. You can also donate by mail (address below). Please click on the other giving options below to see how planned giving, in-kind donations, volunteering, or participating in events can help, as well.

By Mail

Checks can be made payable to the Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation and mailed to 24600 South Tamiami Trail, Suite 212, PMB 162, Bonita Springs, Florida 34134.

In-Kind Giving

Donations of in-kind goods and services like use of vacation property, a golf foursome at an exclusive course, home services, and new luxury items, help us in our fundraising and support efforts since we can auction them at an event to raise money for grants and scholarships.

Sponsorships

There are various levels and opportunities to support events through the season and donors are recognized at events and in communications.  Contact us to find out more.

Bequest

One of the simplest and easiest ways of supporting Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation’s mission is through a bequest in a will or through the designation of Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation as a beneficiary of an IRA, Keogh, 401(k), 403(b) or other qualified pensions plan.

Attend An Event/Volunteer

There are several events during the year that provide a way to help with fundraising, while also raising awareness and engaging donors and volunteers to help make the mission a reality.  Learn more about fundraising and volunteer events by checking our Events page or by emailing the Resident Champion for the charity. The Foundation also welcomes volunteers to help with events, administration, and much more. Use this LINK to find out about all of our volunteer opportunities. You can also reach out via the Contact Us page.

Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)

You can make a QCD from your retirement account as early as 70 1/2 years (even though your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) doesn’t start until 72). Up to $100,000 of your QCD can count toward your RMD and you may realize a significant tax savings by removing an otherwise taxable RMD payment from your income on your tax return.  You should consult with your tax/financial advisor to determine if a QCD makes sense for you.

Wire Transfer

Your contribution may be wired directly from your account to the SWCF account. Please contact Treasurer Eric Ganz for wiring instructions.

Donor-Advised Funds

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a type of giving program that allows you to combine the most favorable tax benefits with the flexibility to easily support your favorite charities.   Learn more by visiting What Is A DAF | DAF Direct.

Planned Giving

Help support Shadow Wood Charitable Foundation now and in the future with planned giving.  To learn more about planned giving, contact Treasurer Eric Ganz.

Appreciated Assets including Stocks

It is possible to donate appreciated assets (stocks, mutual funds) to charity and the tax benefits can be extremely attractive. Contact our Foundation Treasurer Eric Ganz for instructions on making stock/security transfers to the Foundation.

In Honor/Memory Gifts

Making an in honor or memorial donation is a way to recognize a loved one while making a difference to someone in need.  If making your gift online, select In Honor of and follow the instructions. If making a donation by mail, please provide the name of your loved one along with the name and address of who you would like to be notified.
